Want to Help?

The Clothing Bank is in need of children's clothing, all sizes.

Volunteers needed to help with community dinners once a month. Sign up in Hosea Hall or contact Tracey Werner Wilson

Food Pantry needs these items: canned potatoes, carrots, mixed veggies, tuna and cereal. Personal items and/or cash donations welcome.

The Reading Club could use about 60 plastic film canisters for our summer camp.  Drop them in the box in Hosea Hall.

Claire Wilson will be taking care of the Kroger Cards.  She will be in the Parish Hall on Sundays between services for anyone needing a card.  St. John’s receives a percentage of all monies charged to these cards!

About St. John's

St. John's is a community of faith centered on the person and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth....endeavoring to reflect His love. We at St. John's continue in the tradition of being a community of faith centered on the person and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.  In our community of faith, we endeavor to reflect the command of our Lord that we love one another.  In our worship and our life together we are intentional about welcoming all people, caring for one another, feeding the hungry, tending to the sick, and being an oasis for those who are thirsty for the living waters of God's love.

We are also intentional about being challenged by God to become what He wants us to be.  We hope that you find St. John's Episcopal Church a place where you are refreshed and renewed spiritually. We Believe..

Letter from Fr. David Perkins

LOOKING OUT MY WINDOW, September 2010window

Have you ever thought of yourself as a minister of Christ?  Normally, we think of clergy in that way because they are so visible on Sundays as worship leaders and because we call on their ministry in weddings, funerals, baptisms, and moments of crisis.  The Outline of the Faith (Catechism) in The Book of Common Prayer asks the question, “Who are the ministers of the Church?”  The answer:  “The ministers of the Church are lay persons, bishops, priests, and deacons.”  (BCP, 855).  The next question?  “What is the ministry of the laity?”  The answer:  “The ministry of lay persons is to represent Christ and his Church, to bear witness to him wherever they may be;  and, according to the gifts given them, to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world, and to take their place in the life, worship and governance of the Church.”  (BCP, 855).
